Two days after Muhammad Ali’s funeral painted Islam the brightest and most inspiring portrait — Omar Mateen took the lives of 49 people and injured 53. Three days after, Rabbi Michael Lerner, a political activist and editor of Tikkun Magazine, said “We will not tolerate politicians or anyone else putting down Muslims and blaming Muslims for a few people,” because Muslims were once again scrutinized for the vile behavior of one man.
